Both my parents were international athletes so from a young age I spent a lot of time around athletics tracks. I wanted to get stuck in as soon as I was old enough to do so! Which event do you compete in and what does your training involve? My event is the metres. Typically, I compete between May and September each year.

I compete at international meetings such as the Diamond League, European Championships, Commonwealth Games and, of course, the Olympics. I train 6 days a week, twice a day. This usually involves a mix of running exercises across different terrains at varying intensities. I also do at least 3 gym sessions a week and throw in some bike sessions for good measure. I live a very simple lifestyle and it is difficult to have much of a social life or to make spontaneous plans.
